Our Story
How we began
Handing Out Hope had been a long-time dream of founder Heather Finn. “During the summer of 2020, we were seeing homelessness and trafficking in young youth grow tremendously in Arizona”
Our journey
“We started servicing a large homeless camp in downtown Phoenix. Speaking with the young women, I found most were trafficked, and I needed to educate myself. I started volunteering with larger organizations that offered trainings, outreach education, services, rescue centers and the tools to continue to educate myself and others.”
Where we are going
“We will continue to grow our grassroot non-profit and partner with outreach programs to hopefully help someone find their safe place they deserve.”
“We hope that every beautiful soul we meet knows that we care enough and can be trusted when they are ready for the help.”
~ Heather Finn, Founder

“Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future”
“Say hello to Jeff; he is a 59-year old homeless man who lives currently at CASS downtown PHX and takes a bus to Avondale and Goodyear during the day. I would feed him from time to time and told him to reach out if he ever needed anything. He never asked for anything, then one afternoon Jeff called “Helping Heather” (what he calls me), and asked if I could help him find a bike. Within two days, Handing Out Hope was able to deliver Jeff an amazing bike that was donated by a family in our community. He is getting exercise and enjoying his new ride for sure.”
